Job Title:
Part-Time Township Driver Schedule:
Flexible schedule required to work on an as needed basis Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4pm. There are no set work hours; totaling 20-25 hours per week with a maximum of 25 hours weekly.

Lisle Township - Supervisor's Office Job Overview Lisle Township is seeking a Part-Time Township Driver that will flex between our Transportation Department and Food Pantry. This position is part of a team that provides food to community members experiencing food insecurity and transportation to qualifying residents within our Township. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to attend and satisfactorily complete all required PACE Driver training classes, if not currently a PACE Driver. Key Responsibilities Pickup, load, unload, sort and organize food donations and pantry supplies. Receive and process incoming donations by filling out necessary paperwork for all donated food received. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Assist in breaking down containers from received donations (e.g., recyclables & disposables). Maintain good working relationships with store managers and partners. Provide friendly and respectful service to community members, volunteers, donors, and staff. Refuel, clean, and general upkeep of vehicles. Provide seniors and disabled passengers with safe, reliable transportation and excellent customer service. Follow a prepared pick-up schedule using a tablet computer. Collect fares and assist passengers with van/bus entry and exit using steps or mechanical lift. Ensure passengers are properly secure in seats. Complete end-of-day paperwork. Supports Township programs and staff. Other tasks as assigned by the
Township Administrator and Supervisor Qualifications Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred; but not required) and reliable transportation. Satisfactorily complete PACE driver training classes within 6 months of hiring. Experience driving a commercial van or bus preferred but not required. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to use tablet computer, scheduling and mapping software. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently and exercise sound judgment CPR/First Aid certification preferred; but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Exposure to material handling hazards, heat, cold, snow, & rain conditions while performing required duties. Ability to lift and/or move objects of 50 lbs. (occasionally more) continually, load, and unload them into vehicles. Ability to operate a pallet jack. Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check. Compensation Hourly rate of $24.25 No benefits
