Job Description

Performance Food Group, a leading foodservice distributor, seeks a CDL A Delivery Truck Driver Trainee to join our Transportation & Logistics team. In this entry-level role, you will learn to safely operate tractor-trailers, support product loading and unloading, and deliver food and beverage products to restaurants and retail customers. Under close supervision, you'll follow DOT and company safety standards, complete basic paperwork, and deliver outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Ride with and learn from experienced CDL A drivers on local and regional foodservice delivery routes Assist with safe loading, unloading, and delivering food and beverage products to customer locations Practice safe vehicle operation, backing, and maneuvering under driver trainer supervision Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and follow all DOT and company safety procedures Accurately handle delivery paperwork, counts, and returns while providing friendly customer service Participate in company-led training to obtain and maintain a CDL A and transition to solo driver status Required Skills CDL A permit knowledge Safe truck operation DOT regulations compliance Vehicle inspection and maintenance Backhauling and route navigation Electronic log systems Material handling and pallet jacks Customer delivery procedures Basic math and paperwork accuracy Time management
