Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Oil Delivery Driver, where you will be the essential link between our company and our valued customers. In this energetic role, you will operate specialized vehicles to deliver oil and hazardous materials safely and efficiently across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise in truck driving, logistics cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and/or tankers to deliver oil and hazardous materials according to scheduled routes. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure accurate delivery locations and optimal routing. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Comply with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and hazard communication standards during all aspects of transportation and delivery. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues or safety concerns related to truck loading/unloading or cargo security. Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, hours of service, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Experience Proven experience as a commercial truck driver, specifically in delivery driving involving freight transportation across local or OTR routes. Familiarity with truck loading and unloading procedures, including handling hazardous or dangerous goods safely. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for tanker, hazmat, or flatbed preferred; manual transmission experience is a plus. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling practices and route driving strategies to optimize delivery efficiency. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations applicable to commercial trucking. Prior experience operating refrigerated trailers or tanker trucks is advantageous but not required; training will be provided if necessary. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols for hazardous materials transportation.
