The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and independent CDL Class A Driver for a full-time position based in Stirling, NJ . We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their work, from the moment they load the machine to the moment it's delivered. The successful candidate must be a "thinking driver" who plans their movements with precision and takes full responsibility for the safety of their rig.

Key Responsibilities Self-Loading & Equipment Operation:

Independently load and unload various heavy machinery (including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and more) onto lowboy trailers. You must know the basics of operating this equipment to maneuver it safely during the loading process.

Advanced Trip Planning:

A top-tier driver for CMG doesn't just follow a GPS. You must know your routes before leaving the yard. This includes identifying weight-restricted roads, tight turns, and bridge heights . You should have the entire trip "in your head" to avoid hazards and low-clearance strikes. Quora +3

Versatile Hauling:

Expertly operate lowboy trailers, dump trailers, walking floors, and tandem/triaxle trucks.

Properly secure all loads using chains and binders according to NJ state laws. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure DOT compliance. Department of Transportation (.gov) +1

Requirements License:

Valid CDL Class A with a clean record and current DOT Medical Card .

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in heavy haul and lowboy operations.

Technical Skill:

Proficiency in operating and self-loading heavy machinery.

Route Mastery:

Demonstrated ability to plan truck-legal routes, accounting for all physical road restrictions.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to handle the physical demands of active construction sites, including climbing, lifting, and securing heavy chains.
