Delivery Driver/Order Puller Reports to: Store manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and efficient delivery driver/order puller to join our team at Woodson Lumber. This role involves preparing, loading, and delivering a variety of lumber and building materials to customer locations while also balancing responsibilities in the retail yard. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Order Pulling:
Accurately pull and prepare orders for delivery, ensuring that all items match the customer's request and are in good condition. 2.
Loading:
Safely load materials onto delivery trucks, ensuring they are securely fastened and organized for efficient unloading. 3.
Delivery:
Drive to customer locations to deliver orders, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. 4.
Customer Service:
Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring a positive experience. 5.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform basic maintenance checks on delivery vehicles and report any issues to management. 6.
Inventory Management:
Assist in inventory counts and maintain a clean and safe work area in the lumberyard. 7.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other team members to improve efficiency and customer service. 8. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift and move heavy materials. Experience in driving large vehicles is preferred. Basic knowledge of lumber and building materials is advantageous. Strong communication and customer service skills. High school diploma or equivalent.
