Pharmacy Driver - Part-Time Community Nursing Services, "CNS" | Pharmacy Services | Salt Lake City Valley and Surrounding Communities Position Summary Community Nursing Services (CNS) is Utah's second-largest nonprofit home health and hospice organization, serving patients across nine locations in partnership with University of Utah Health and Huntsman Cancer Institute. CNS is seeking a dependable PRN or Part-Time Pharmacy Driver to support our Pharmacy Services team by delivering prescriptions to patients in the Salt Lake City valley and surrounding communities as needed. In this role, you will serve as a frontline representative of CNS, pulling and packing prescription orders, loading deliveries, and driving to patient homes to complete prescription drop-offs. This position works alongside our pharmacy team to ensure patients receive timely, safe, and compassionate service during afternoon and evening hours.
Compensation Hourly:
Starting at $ 18.00 /hour. We offer more based on experience, education, and work history.
On-Call Stipend:
$50 flat stipend per on-call shift, in addition to your hourly rate for any dispatched delivery completed while on call.
On-Call Rotation:
Approximately one weekend day every 5-6 weeks.
Vehicle:
Company vehicle provided for deliveries. Personal vehicle use may be requested occasionally; mileage reimbursement is provided at $0.60 per mile for qualified travel when a personal vehicle is used.

Be part of a mission-driven nonprofit organization serving Utah communities Flexible afternoon and evening schedule that works around other commitments Company vehicle provided - no wear and tear on your personal car Meaningful patient-facing interactions and the opportunity to support patients receiving care in their homes Supportive pharmacy and operations team Key Responsibilities Deliver prescriptions to patients in their homes in a timely, safe, and professional manner Pull and pack prescription orders for delivery in coordination with the pharmacy team Load and secure orders in the company delivery vehicle for safe transport Call patients or caregivers ahead of delivery to confirm drop-off, address, and any special instructions Offer to carry prescriptions and supplies into the home when the patient or caregiver requests assistance Pick up prescriptions, supplies, or equipment from suppliers or partner sites as needed Pick up and return items from discharged or transitioning patients as assigned Maintain accurate and complete delivery documentation, including delivery confirmations and patient visit notes Communicate proactively with the pharmacy team regarding patient observations, delivery issues, or supply needs Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area and delivery vehicle in accordance with company policy Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times Report incidents, safety concerns, or patient concerns to management promptly Participate in the on-call weekend rotation (approximately one weekend day every 5-6 weeks) Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 6 months of delivery, courier, warehouse, or customer service experience preferred Pharmacy or healthcare-related experience preferred, but not required Licensure & Driving Requirements Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record Proof of current auto insurance (required if using personal vehicle at any time) Comfortable operating a company vehicle in a variety of weather and traffic conditions Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable calling and talking with patients to confirm deliveries Compassionate, patient-centered approach to service Ability to navigate routing software, smartphones, and complete required electronic documentation Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of HIPAA and basic infection control practices preferred Ability to maintain flexible availability to meet patient needs Other Requirements Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening Must be authorized to work in the United States. Proof of employment eligibility will be required upon hire Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items and packages up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to load and unload delivery vehicles Prolonged periods of driving, standing, bending, and reaching Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including patient homes and outdoor settings Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Must be physically capable of safely operating a company vehicle and performing deliveries under all weather conditions Additional Information This job summary outlines the general nature and level of responsibilities and is not an exhaustive list of all duties or skills required.
