Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Boat Captain holding a 100 Ton US Coast Guard license to lead Fishing Charter operations with confidence and precision Inshore and Offshore. Full day trips as well as an occasional overnight offshore trip during Tuna season. We operate from April 1st until February 15th, then shut down for dry dock and maintenance. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely navigating to the fishing grounds, locating fish for customers to catch, managing crew members, and ensuring compliance with maritime safety procedures and regulations. Your leadership will drive smooth vessel management, upholding fishing regulations, and foster a culture of safety and excellence on every voyage. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee operations in dynamic fishing environments while maintaining the highest standards of maritime safety and crew management. Responsibilities Operate vessels safely and efficiently, adhering to USCG regulations and maritime safety procedures at all times Manage and supervise crew members, ensuring effective communication and teamwork during daily operations Conduct a vessel inspection, routine maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and compliance with USCG equipment standards Navigate using marine navigation systems, charts, and other electronic tools to ensure precise vessel positioning and route planning to catch fish inshore and offshore Maintain detailed logs of vessel movements, safety checks, maintenance activities, and incident reports for accountability and regulatory compliance Experience Experience in fishing off of the Jersey Shore, with a strong background in handling of a 62' vessel Knowledge of USCG regulations governing commercial fishing vessels and maritime safety procedures Ability to manage your crew effectively as a ship Captain and catch our passengers fish. Background in fishing for anything that swims off the New Jersey shore Strong communication skills for coordinating with crew members, customers, and following regulatory fishing limits to ensure a smooth experience.
