Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Local CDL Class A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely within local routes. We have only manual transmission trucks- no automatic transmissions available. As a key player in our logistics network, you will ensure timely deliveries, maintain excellent customer service, and uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers and flatbeds on local delivery routes. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing routes. Deliver freight to customers' locations with professionalism and excellent customer service skills. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols. Handle logistics cargo with precision, including freight that involves dangerous goods or hazardous materials when applicable. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record 2 years required. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with flatbed trailers, and tractor-trailers. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred; ability to manually handle cargo safely. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations. Ability to load & unload freight manually or using appropriate equipment; knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures. Strong driving skills with experience in local deliveries involving freight transportation. Excellent safety awareness and commitment to following all safety protocols during operations.
