Position SummaryThe Banquet Driver (Stewarding) plays a critical role in supporting banquet and culinary operations by safely transporting equipment, food, beverages, and supplies across the resort. This position ensures timely and accurate delivery for events while maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency within stewarding operations. The role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and requires strong attention to detail and teamwork.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate company vehicles to transport banquet equipment, food, beverages, and supplies to and from event locations across the resortLoad and unload banquet items including tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and kitchen equipmentEnsure all deliveries are accurate, timely, and meet event setup requirementsAssist with banquet setup and breakdown as neededMaintain cleanliness and organization of loading docks, storage areas, and vehiclesConduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concernsSupport stewarding team with dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation duties during peak periodsFollow all safety, sanitation, and company policies and proceduresCommunicate effectively with banquet, culinary, and stewarding teams to ensure smooth operationsQualificationsValid drivers license with a clean driving recordPrevious experience in hospitality, stewarding, or banquet operations preferredAbility to operate delivery vans or small trucks safelyStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy banquet equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds, including tables, chairs, dish racks, glass racks, and food transport containersContinuous standing and walking for the majority of the shift, often across large resort grounds and between multiple event venuesFrequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching (including overhead) to load, unload, and properly store equipmentRepetitive motions involving lifting, stacking, and transporting items throughout the shift with minimal downtimeAbility to safely load and secure items in vehicles, requiring strength, balance, and coordinationOperation of delivery vehicles for extended periods, requiring sustained focus, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to enter and exit vehicles repeatedlyWork in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to heat, humidity, rain, and varying weather conditions typical of a coastal resortAbility to navigate ramps, stairs, uneven surfaces, and tight storage or loading areas while carrying or maneuvering equipmentTolerance for high noise levels, busy loading docks, and fast-paced event environmentsPhysical stamina to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a high-volume, fast-paced settingEOE M/D/F/V
