Operations Manager / Foreman Position Summary Responsible for safely operating company commercial vehicles to transport construction materials, equipment, tools, and personnel to and from jobsites. The driver may operate dump trucks, flatbeds, equipment trailers, delivery trucks, and other company vehicles as assigned. Position requires a valid Class A or Class B CDL with the appropriate air-brake qualification and no restriction that prevents operation of company vehicles. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate CDL Class A or B commercial vehicles. Transport lumber, steel, roofing materials, fencing materials, concrete, equipment, tools, and other construction supplies. Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations. Pull equipment and material trailers when authorized by the driver's CDL and company requirements. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Inspect tires, brakes, lights, fluids, coupling devices, safety equipment, and other critical components. Properly operate vehicles equipped with air-brake systems. Maintain required vehicle inspection, mileage, fuel, and delivery records. Deliver materials and equipment to construction jobsites safely and on schedule. Assist crews with loading and unloading materials and equipment when needed. Operate forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, or other equipment when properly trained and authorized. Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and other appropriate equipment. Follow all DOT, FMCSA, state, and company safety requirements applicable to the driver's duties. Maintain a clean and organized truck, trailer, and equipment. Report mechanical problems, damage, accidents, traffic violations, and safety concerns immediately. Assist installation crews with general labor duties when not driving. Maintain professional communication with project managers, customers, vendors, suppliers, and other contractors. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications Valid Class A or Class B CDL appropriate for the vehicles being operated. Qualified to operate vehicles equipped with full air brakes without an applicable air-brake restriction. FMCSA identifies restrictions for drivers who have not qualified to operate CMVs with air brakes. Acceptable driving record. Ability to pass company-required background and motor vehicle record checks. Ability to safely lift, carry, and move construction materials. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Due to equipment and products this is a hazardous occupation. Preferred Qualifications Construction, trucking, equipment hauling, or building-material delivery experience. Experience operating dump trucks, flatbeds, roll-offs, or equipment trailers. Experience hauling construction equipment. Familiarity with construction jobsites. Basic mechanical knowledge. Experience with loading and securing heavy or oversized construction materials. Familiarity with GPS, map and navigation applications. 2 years of experience with hauling equipment and materials on a flatbed gooseneck trailer is perferred. Physical Requirements Ability to climb into and out of trucks and equipment. Ability to sit and drive for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials when required. Ability to bend, stoop, climb, push, pull, and work around construction equipment. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations. Safety Responsibilities The CDL Driver is expected to make safety the highest priority while operating company vehicles and working on construction jobsites. Drivers must conduct required inspections, properly secure loads, follow posted speed limits and traffic laws, use required PPE, and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment defects.
Schedule:
Full time Basic schedule is Monday thru Friday, 6:30am to 3:00 or 4:00pm daily. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or extended workdays.
