Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations on local, regional, and OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklifts, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to reach delivery destinations on time while optimizing route planning. Deliver a variety of freight including hazardous materials, dangerous goods, refrigerated items, tanker loads, and automobile transportation shipments. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to maintain safety standards; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in compliance with regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional customer service. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with flatbed endorsement; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with flatbed trailers and route driving in diverse environments. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and DOT safety standards. Ability to handle manual handling tasks including load & unload operations; forklift certification is a plus. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning on OTR routes. Experience with logistics cargo handling involving freight such as refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or freight transportation.
