Job Description
Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking a Driver Class B Trainee to support our environmental services and used oil recycling routes. In this entry-level role, you will ride along with experienced drivers to learn safe operation of Class B vehicles, assist with collection and transport of used oil and related materials, and follow strict DOT, OSHA, and company safety procedures. Responsibilities include helping with loading/unloading, completing basic route paperwork, performing routine vehicle checks, and interacting professionally with customers. Safety-Kleen offers structured training, strong safety programs, and clear pathways to advance into a full Class B driver role while contributing to environmental sustainability across industrial, automotive, and commercial customer sites. Responsibilities Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles on assigned routes to service customer locations Assist senior drivers with loading, transporting, and unloading used oil, waste, and environmental materials Follow all DOT, OSHA, and Safety-Kleen safety, environmental, and compliance procedures Complete required logs, manifests, and basic route documentation accurately and on time Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues promptly Communicate professionally with customers and represent Safety-Kleen's service standards Participate in training and ride-alongs to progress from trainee to qualified Class B driver Use basic equipment, hoses, and pumps for collection and transfer of materials Required Skills Commercial driving and vehicle operation Basic knowledge of DOT regulations Pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection Safe material handling and lifting Completion of logs and route paperwork Use of hoses, pumps, and basic transfer equipment Customer service and communication Time management and route planning support Adherence to safety and environmental procedures Basic mechanical awareness of trucks and equipment
