Duties Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles of all sizes. Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics to prepare vehicles for towing or delivery. Secure loads following cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation on the tow truck. Assist with vehicle recovery towing, including accident scenes, breakdowns, or illegally parked vehicles. Load and unload vehicles carefully using manual transmission skills and mechanical knowledge to prevent damage. Maintain accurate documentation of all towing activities, including shift logs, incident reports, and vehicle condition reports. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and ensuring a positive experience during stressful situations. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving or car towing with a valid driver's license for heavy or commercial vehicles. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, minor mechanical fixes, and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Familiarity with flatbed tow trucks, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks. Knowledge of cargo securement protocols and vehicle recovery towing techniques. Ability to manage conflict situations professionally while maintaining safety standards on the road and at the scene of incidents. Experience in driving manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable. Prior work involving automotive diagnostics or automotive repair enhances your ability to handle diverse roadside scenarios confidently.
