: A dynamic split between a scalehouse setting and outdoor operations- aggregate pit/yard. This position is serving as the first point of contact for drivers and customers working with our material processing crew at our Patterson Location. Your key responsibilities will include accurately weighing trucks entering and exiting the aggregate pit, ensuring proper documentation of materials sold, and providing excellent customer service and loading those customers. This role involves maintaining detailed records, operating the scale system, and communicating effectively with drivers, customers, and site personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Weighing and Documentation:
Operate truck scales to accurately weigh loaded and empty vehicles. Record weight data, product type, and customer information using the scale management system. Ensure all transactions are properly documented and invoices are generated accurately.
Customer Service:
Greet drivers and provide clear instructions on site procedures. Address customer inquiries in a courteous and professional manner. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to resolve discrepancies or issues.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain daily records of sales, inventory, and truck activity. Prepare reports for management as needed. Manage credit, and check transactions, ensuring accuracy in payment collection.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure drivers comply with site safety regulations and procedures. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor/and or Safety Specialist. Operate loaders and lifts safely and efficiently to load customers with product. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Always perform duties with proper PPE and safety awareness. Keep the yard clean and organized to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers. Ensure drivers comply with site safety protocols and report any incidents to the Supervisor or Safety Specialist.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a similar role or in an aggregate/construction environment preferred. Basic computer skills and experience with scale management software (e.g., Scale Ticketing Systems). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (loaders, bull dozers, skid steers, & lifts). Ability to perform equipment maintenance, operate machinery for extended periods, and maintain the emotional/physical fitness required for a fast-paced outdoor environment. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office setting within the scale house with occasional outdoor exposure. May be required to work in varying weather conditions. Use of both standard office equipment (computers, printers) and heavy industrial machinery. Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. Capable of working in outdoor conditions, including extreme weather and dusty environments. Ability to operate equipment for extended periods of time while maintaining focus and safety.
