Job Description

Lazer Logistics is hiring CDL A Truck Drivers to support 24/7 yard management, spotting, and shuttle operations for major distribution centers and manufacturers. In this safety-focused role, you will move trailers within yards, complete dock pulls, yard checks, and local shuttles using specialized equipment and yard management technology. Drivers perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, follow all DOT and site safety rules, and communicate closely with dispatch and operations teams. Responsibilities Operate CDL A trucks safely for yard spotting and shuttle moves within distribution centers and manufacturer yards Complete trailer moves, dock pulls, and yard checks using company technology and communication tools Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, document defects, and report maintenance needs promptly Follow all DOT, company, and site-specific safety procedures, PPE requirements, and traffic patterns Use yard management systems and handheld devices to receive, confirm, and complete move assignments Communicate clearly with dispatch, yard supervisors, and warehouse personnel to coordinate trailer flow Maintain accurate logs, move records, and paperwork as required by company and customer standards Support new driver training and follow all policies that promote a safe, respectful, and team-oriented culture Required Skills CDL A tractor-trailer operation Yard spotting and shuttle driving DOT regulations and hours-of-service compliance Pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections Backing and maneuvering in tight yards Use of yard management systems (YMS) Two-way radio and handheld device communication Basic truck and trailer troubleshooting Safety protocols in distribution/warehouse environments Log and move documentation
