Job Description

US Foods, a leading national foodservice distributor, is seeking a CDL Local Driver to safely deliver fresh, frozen, and dry food products to restaurants, healthcare facilities, and hospitality customers in the area. In this field-based role, you'll operate a CDL Class A tractor-trailer on daily local routes, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, loading and unloading product with pallet jacks or hand trucks, and ensuring accurate, on-time deliveries. You'll represent our performance-driven, safety-focused culture, providing professional customer service at every stop while following DOT, food safety, and company standards. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL tractor-trailer for local delivery routes Load, unload, and verify foodservice products per customer orders Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain driver logs Follow DOT, safety, and food handling regulations at all times Provide professional, customer-focused service at each stop Coordinate with dispatch on routes, delivery issues, and schedules Handle paperwork, manifests, returns, and shortages accurately Secure loads and maintain cleanliness of truck and equipment Report equipment issues, incidents, or delays promptly Support team goals in a fast-paced distribution environment Required Skills CDL Class A truck operation Local route navigation and trip planning DOT compliance and logkeeping Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting Freight loading, unloading, and securing Use of lift gates and pallet jacks Time management and route efficiency Customer service in delivery settings Paperwork and manifest accuracy Safety and hazard awareness
