Job Description

Position Summary:
Primarily responsible for driving company vehicles as assigned. Also responsible for loading, packing, and inventorying shipments as assigned. Must be able to be qualified and remain qualified to drive. This includes meeting the requirements of a criminal background check, driving record, physical, drug screen, and any other information as required by state and federal regulations.
Essential Functions:
  • Safely drive all company vehicles (owned or rented) as assigned.
  • Coordinating inventory, pack, and load, and when it will be done.
  • Correctly complete all paperwork for designated job. This includes but is not limited to Driver's ticket.
  • Load and unload equipment.
  • Secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
  • Must be proficient at packing, loading, inventorying, etc., This includes loading items on moving van in order to maximize capacity and eliminate any possibility of damage in transporting. Packing items using correct wrapping and boxes required. Inventorying shipments as required, using correct documentation procedures.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment.
  • Completing daily logs via Electronic Devices or Paper
  • Completing Pre-Trip and Post Trip reports
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
  • Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Know specifics and applications of rental inventory, so you can answer questions upon delivery.
  • Maintain and comply with company procedures and policies
  • While driving company vehicle:
  • Serve as company representative.
  • Carry driver's license at ALL times.
  • Observe all laws.
  • Complete safety inspection/safety check daily on vehicles (fuel, lights, brakes, etc.)
  • Keep vehicles clean (interior and exterior).
  • Notify manager of any scrapes, dents or accidents.
  • Notify manager of any mechanical difficulties.
  • Recommend equipment and related items to customers.
  • Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
  • Notify dispatcher or store if behind schedule, so customers may be contacted.
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation.
  • Start equipment for customers.
  • If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer's signature. Tum in these forms to supervisor, along with pick up sheets. Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
  • Deliver pick up ticket copies to Dispatcher so counts can be verified prior to unloading.
  • Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels. Report problems to supervisor. Top off and record fluid levels as necessary.
  • Know all moving equipment and proper uses for each including dollies, four-wheelers, lift-gates, piano boards, walk-boards, etc.
  • Work with dispatch daily, in person or by phone as required by the General Manager to check work schedule unless otherwise directed by supervisor. Report to work promptly at dispatched time.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork for vehicle inspections and tum in to supervisor daily.
  • Never leave keys in vehicles or equipment.
  • Report safety violations to supervisor.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
  • Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store.
  • Attend department, store and safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Will load and unload vehicles/trucks and deliver equipment in full or partial loads working with dispatcher. Must service customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner.
Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL License (A or B)
  • Minimum 6 months of recent CDL (A or B) driving experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid commercial driver's license.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
  • Good communication skills
  • Must pass company drug screen.
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must have a full range of motion and dexterity.
  • Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to the general range of weather experienced in the area, with the exception of several hours in the warehouse loading or unloading and drive time. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard; hence a sense of smell is required. Some electrical equipment is delivered, although it is not a requirement to install or service the equipment. If lighting is required (the installation of extension cords and lamps) the drivers are provided with Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFI) breakers.

$30.00
