Physical Certification GPS navigation Commercial driving Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking reliable and safety-focused Concrete Mixer Truck Drivers to join our team. The Concrete Mixer Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a mixer truck and delivering ready-mix concrete to industrial, commercial, and residential construction sites. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and understands the schedule flexibility required for the industry. Previous concrete or ready-mix experience is preferred, but drivers with no ready-mix experience are welcome to apply as we offer on the job training. Responsibilities Arrive and clock in 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Complete a thorough pre-trip inspection of the assigned truck before driving; report any issues or concerns with truck to batcher. Safely operate the concrete mixer truck and all auxiliary equipment, including levers, chutes, and mixing drums. Operate the mixer while loading sand, gravel, cement, and water at the batch plant. Pick up the delivery ticket from the batchman and confirm accurate directions to the job site. Safely transport and deliver concrete to industrial, commercial, and residential job sites. Understand and properly assess concrete slump requirements to be able to raise concerns to batcher and if needed, quality control. Inspect the job site for potential safety hazards before entering the pour area. Communicate with the batcher by radio, phone, or text upon arrival at the job site. Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and job-site personnel. Properly use assigned radio codes and communication procedures. Operate truck controls and chutes to safely discharge concrete into wheelbarrows, conveying equipment, or directly into the designated pour area. Immediately report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns that occur while driving or at the job site. Return to the plant with the delivery ticket properly signed. Thoroughly clean the mixer truck after each delivery using a water hose to prevent concrete from hardening on or inside the truck. Apply protective compound to truck surfaces as needed to prevent concrete from adhering. Complete a post-trip inspection; report any issues or concerns with truck to batcher. Check with the batcher before clocking out to determine whether additional deliveries are needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager. Qualifications & Requirements Valid CDL Class A or Class B required. Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience required per insurance carrier. Must be at least 25 years old per insurance requirements. Current and valid DOT medical card required. Minimum 1 year of concrete/ready-mix experience preferred. Strong commitment to workplace and job-site safety. Ability to safely operate a concrete mixer truck and related equipment. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with dispatch/batch personnel, customers, and job-site crews. Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential. Professional and courteous customer-service skills. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. Drivers are responsible for greasing and maintaining their trucks routinely, ensuring they remain clean on the inside and outside. They must also diagnose and report any issues to batchers.
