Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight, including but not limited to general goods, construction materials, and various cargo types across designated routes. Your expertise in truck driving, route planning, and cargo handling and securing will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption. Transport a variety of freight including general goods, construction materials, flatbed loads, tankers, and automobile transportation. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with legal requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, and potential delays or issues during transit. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of freight transported (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across long distances. Familiarity with cargo trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and materials regulations. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and hazardous materials handling procedures. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling and truck loading/unloading processes. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with GPS navigation systems is preferred.
