Position Summary:
Responsible for the safe and efficient handling, preservation, and transport of products to suppliers and customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Operate company delivery truck(s) in a safe manner in accordance with all state and local traffic laws Perform required inspections of truck and/or trailer as required by state law Must be willing to submit to routine drug testing as required by state law Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment Identify and report safety concerns to the Packing/Shipping Manager Identify and report maintenance needs to the Maintenance Manager Perform routine maintenance functions on company delivery truck(s) and trailer(s) Complete and submit appropriate shipping/receiving paperwork Perform functions of a packing team member on days that deliveries are not required Maintain a good attendance record
Qualifications:
Self-driven with a strong ability to work with others
Good communication in a team environment as well as critical thinking skills, strong mechanical aptitude.
Maintain appropriate driver's license requirements Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma preferred, completion of an approved tractor/trailer driving school
Language/Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate and work with team members in a bilingual environment (with the use of an interpreter as needed). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills
