Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated truck driver to serve our company in a safe and timely manner. Previous experience with log truck, flat bed and curtain trailer. Willing to train the right candidate. Pay based on experience . Responsibili Transport logs, lumber and other raw materials over land to and from other plants, mills, retail or distribution center. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues daily and perform preventative maintenance. Document and log work periods and miles spent driving, retain fuel/toll receipts and submit to the office daily Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents or violations Applicants must have: Proven work experience as a truck driver Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc) Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations. Applicant will submit to a driving history check. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Valid Class A CDL truck driving license and current medical card Be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening as determined by the DOT.
