FULL TIME SERVICER FOR SOUTHEAST AREA TRANSIT DISTRICT
The District is the region's public transportation provider with a strong public service ethic. We are looking for an energetic, conscientious and detail-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, a quick learner who can take the initiative, is safety-driven, and enjoys being part of a small team that takes pride in their service to the community.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cleans, fuels and services all SEAT vehicles
  • Records fluid levels and mileages; Reviews and files inspection reports.
  • Vaults fareboxes
  • Parks buses and drives buses to routes.
  • Reports and records vehicle and facility defects
  • Performs minor mechanical repairs on fleet and facilities.
  • Maintains grounds, including grass cutting and snow plowing.
  • Occasionally performs janitorial work.
  • Completes daily reports and other paperwork as required.
Must be available to work nights, and weekends including Sundays.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • At least 21 years old, CDL license preferred (Class A or B).
  • No more than one (1) moving violation in the last three years.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends and maximum hours per day to not exceed CT Hours of Service.
  • Must not have outside employment that interferes with employment at SEAT.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical exam and pending CDL tests, pre-employment testing meeting physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to travel for training.
  • Must be able to effectively read, write and comprehend Basic English
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing under Federal Transit Administration regulations.

Starting pay rate:
