Job Overview - Full-time or Part-Time position available We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Welding Teacher to inspire and educate high school students in the art and science of welding. This role involves delivering engaging classroom instruction, overseeing hands-on training, and developing comprehensive curricula that prepare students for careers in manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, aircraft maintenance, HVAC/R, and related fields. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to work with diverse student populations. As a Welding Teacher, you will play a vital role in equipping learners with practical skills that meet industry standards and safety regulations. Duties Deliver comprehensive welding instruction using both theoretical lessons and practical demonstrations to ensure mastery of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, arc welding, and more. Develop and update course curricula that incorporate current industry practices, safety standards (including OSHA compliance), and emerging technologies like programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and educational technologies. Supervise students during hands-on welding exercises in laboratory or shop environments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Incorporate online instruction tools and Blackboard learning management systems to enhance learning experiences for remote or blended classes. Assess student progress through tests, projects, practical evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Collaborate with industry partners to align training programs with workforce needs in manufacturing, automotive service, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, electrical work, aircraft maintenance, and mechanical systems. Design engaging classroom activities that foster technical proficiency in areas such as hydraulics, electrical systems, automotive diagnostics, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations), and mechanical knowledge. Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing OSHA standards and safety procedures during all instructional activities. Support curriculum development efforts by integrating adult education principles and ensuring accessibility for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Stay current with technological advancements in welding equipment, tools, and techniques to ensure instruction remains relevant and industry-leading. Qualifications Proven experience working with post-secondary students or adult learners in technical education settings. Strong knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, arc welding; familiarity with automotive repair; aircraft maintenance; HVAC/R; plumbing; electrical systems; hydraulics; and mechanical knowledge. Technical proficiency with educational technologies such as computers for course design and online instruction platforms like Blackboard. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems is highly desirable. Classroom training experience combined with the ability to develop engaging curriculum tailored to diverse student needs. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to manufacturing environments and skilled trades training programs. Experience with course design focused on technical skills instruction across multiple trades including automotive diagnostics and HVAC systems. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Strong organizational skills for managing classroom activities, assessments, safety protocols, and curriculum updates.
