Transmission Specialist

Job Description

2101 Kansas Ave, Kansas City, Kansas 66105 United States of America Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to diagnose the source of mechanical and drivability problems and repair or replace major or minor gasoline-engine parts and related components (heating, cooling systems and radiators) of U-Haul trucks.
Primary responsibilities include:
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts. Overhaul and repair engines or motors; disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts; reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed; use oxygen-acetylene, electro arc-welding or similar types of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, maintain and repair engines, and oil and lubricate engine and chassis Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving Automotive Service Experience. Automotive Diagnostic Maintenance Experience. Veterans, Military, Military spouses are encouraged to apply!

Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
