Full-Time | On-Site Begin Your Career in the Railroad Industry Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable Railcar Preparation Technician for our Georgetown, Kentucky, operation. This entry-level position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work outdoors, stay physically active, and gain experience in the railroad industry. As part of our rail operations team, you will inspect and clean railcars to ensure they are properly prepared for vehicle loading. The position involves using backpack blowers, scrapers, and hand tools to remove debris and materials that could damage vehicles during transportation. Previous railroad experience is not required. We provide hands-on training for candidates who are willing to learn, follow safety instructions, and report to work consistently. Experience in general labor, warehouse operations, construction, landscaping, agriculture, manufacturing, maintenance, or other physical work may help you succeed in this role. What You'll Do As a Railcar Preparation Technician, you will: Inspect railcars for debris, dirt, contaminants, and visible damage Clean railcar interiors using backpack blowers, scrapers, and hand tools Prepare railcars for the safe loading and transportation of new vehicles Remove materials that could potentially cause vehicle damage Open, inspect, and secure railcar doors when assigned Climb railcar ladders and perform work at heights of up to 20 feet Inspect tools and equipment before beginning work Maintain assigned tools and report equipment problems Perform general labor and housekeeping duties around the worksite Keep railcars and surrounding work areas clean and organized Immediately report unsafe conditions, damage, or operational concerns Follow all company, customer, and railroad safety requirements Wear and properly maintain required personal protective equipment Complete other railcar preparation and inspection tasks as assigned What We're Looking For Successful candidates must be able to: Report to work consistently Work outdoors throughout the year in heat, cold, rain, wind, and changing weather Lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds Stand and walk for extended periods Frequently bend, reach, squat, climb, and use hand tools Safely climb ladders and work at elevated heights Work around railcars, industrial equipment, dust, and loud noise Understand and follow written and verbal instructions Work independently while also contributing to a team Maintain a safety-first attitude throughout the shift Pay and Benefits This position pays $19.29 per hour .
