Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Extreme Ice Center is a two-sheet ice rink located just southeast of Charlotte, North Carolina that provides year-round programs, leagues, classes and events for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating. We seek part-time employees to join our facility team for the maintenance and care of our equipment, building and property. Opportunities for full-time hourly employment exist based on performance and availability. Drive ice resurfacing machine (Olympia) and operate edging equipment to maintain ice quality. Monitor and maintain refrigeration plant components. Operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, sweepers and vacuums. Repair and maintain fixtures and equipment for the ice arena, restaurant, service areas and back offices. Use power and hand tools to complete repairs and projects with carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and structural needs.
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience performing maintenance activities and projects at a commercial facility, plant, warehouse, athletic venue, school or military operation. Experience driving machinery with hydraulic components. Proficient user of common hand and power tools. Ability to troubleshoot and address mechanical, plumbing and electrical needs around the facility.
Ability and willingness to:
Work nights, weekends and holidays. Perform physical labor, including facility cleaning duties. Lift and move medium to heavy objects. Complete repairs and projects that require access by a ladder or scissor lift. Work in cold and hot temperatures. Self-directed, team player and professional.
SCHEDULE 20-40
hours per week Schedule could include 6-10 hour shifts depending on the day, starting as early as 6 a.m. and ending as late as 3 a.m. Open or consistent availability required. Training provided with Facility staff, as available, during other days and times until ready to work independently
COMPENSATION
$15-18 hourly rate; fringe benefits related to rink programs and products.
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
