The company serves approximately 140 freight customers, including major Fortune 500 companies, across diverse industries such as agriculture, chemicals, lumber, minerals, and recycling. Job Summary Rio Grande Pacific Transit Group is seeking a MOW employee with a Class A CDL responsible for general right-of-way and station inspection, upkeep, and maintenance on the railroad corridor. This role performs daily inspection, remedial repair, and programmed improvement of track and structures, including rail, fastenings, ties, ballast, fences, bridges, culverts, road crossings, and line crossings. The MOW Employee may work independently or as part of a crew to correct defects and maintain a safe, efficient physical plant for train operations. Responsibilities
Operate Class A vehicles with proper licensing
Perform right-of-way maintenance including trash cleanup, vegetation control, soil stabilization, fence repair, signage replacement, and graffiti remediation.
Repair track and switch deviations in accordance with FRA Track Safety Standards.
Inspect and maintain rail, fastenings, ties, ballast, fences, bridges, culverts, road crossings, and line crossings.
Operate small machinery and power tools.
Assist in emergencies, derailments, and crossing incidents.
Work individually or as part of a section or gang to correct defects or deviations from track standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Track Foreman, Track Supervisor, or Project Manager. Requirements
Class A CDL Required
Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Ability to speak English clearly and concisely to communicate with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
Ability to effectively handle conflict situations.
Must be able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions.
Must possess good verbal communication skills.
Must be capable of performing physically strenuous work on a continuous basis.
Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
Previous Maintenance of Way, railroad, and heavy machine operation experience preferred.
Heavy lifting up to 100 pounds required.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
CDL Class A with ability to operate a manual transmission is a plus.
