Must have a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. No Automatic Restriction.

1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience is required. Must pass a road test in a manual transmission tractor.

Responsibilities / Job

Duties Velocity Rail Solutions drivers are responsible for loading, transporting, and transferring red-dyed diesel, sand, water, and lube oil into trains on an 'on-call' basis for the Railroad. On-the-job training will be provided for qualified individuals. The Railroad maintains dedicated trucks and drivers on duty 24/7/365, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent paychecks. You will be paid for a full 12 hours each shift, including breaks, lunches, and any wait time for dispatches. You will be compensated for all 'on-duty' hours. What Does a Relief Driver Do? A relief driver at Velocity Rail Solutions is responsible for covering shifts when local drivers are on vacation or when there are open shifts that need to be filled. This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as relief drivers must be willing to work various shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays. Relief drivers ensure that operations continue smoothly without interruption, providing essential support to the team and maintaining consistent service for our clients. Relief Drivers cover vacations and open shifts across multiple locations within the Atlantic Region, including:

Knoxville, TN Corbin, KY Danville, KY Russell, KY Louisville, KY Roanoke, VA Bluefield, WV Requirements/Qualifications Licenses and Endorsements:

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements No automatic restriction on CDL Ability to obtain TWIC card.

Experience:

Must be able to clear all background checks required by the company, customer, and government Must not be prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions as per the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Must have completed all required steps as mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations Must pass a road test in a manual transmission tractor Responsible for maintaining all required licenses and certifications Possess a valid DOT medical card Comply with DOT regulations, including annual MVR checks and certification of violations
