(Department of Transportation) regulations Working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure role Construction industry experience Construction material transportation Working on construction projects OSHA 10-Hour Construction Construction hauling Full Job Description We are seeking a Grinding & Grooving Driver to transport specialized grinding and grooving equipment between project locations and support roadway and airport construction operations. This is a travel intensive position that requires employees to travel nationwide and remain out of town for extended periods.
What You'll Do:
Safely transport grinding and grooving equipment, support vehicles, and construction materials to project sites across the country. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance. Secure and transport oversized and heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with equipment loading, unloading, mobilization, and demobilization. Support grinding and grooving crews with setup, maintenance, fueling, and general labor activities when not driving. Complete required paperwork, inspection reports, and logbooks. Communicate effectively with supervisors and project teams regarding deliveries and equipment movement. Identify mechanical issues and coordinate repairs as needed. Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and project requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Valid Class A CDL. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet all DOT requirements. Experience hauling heavy construction equipment. Previous heavy civil construction experience. Experience with lowboy, flatbed, or specialized hauling equipment. OSHA 10 Certification. Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States. Ability to stay overnight and work away from home for extended periods. Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, and varying schedules based on project demands. Strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
