Van Driver/Utility About the Role Vocational Innovations is seeking a dependable and compassionate Van Driver to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Pay:

$20.75/hr

Status:

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday, 7:00

1532 San Bernadino Ave Suite B1 Pomona, CA 91767 About the Role This position combines client support, transportation, community participation, and program assistance . The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, comfortable working directly with clients, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered support. What You'll Do Safely transport clients between their homes, program locations, and community activities. Supervise and support clients throughout the program day. Assist clients with arrival, departure, and daily transitions. Support activities that promote independence, skill development, and community participation. Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, toileting, mobility, and personal care while maintaining client dignity and privacy. Support clients during community outings, volunteer activities, and employment settings. Follow Individual Service Plans (ISPs), care plans, medical protocols, dietary restrictions, and established safety procedures. Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical situations using approved procedures and training. Complete required documentation, including progress notes, behavioral and skills data, incident reports, transportation logs, mileage records, and community outing documentation. Conduct required vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle maintenance and transportation records. Coordinate vehicle servicing and report mechanical or safety concerns. Pick up and deliver program supplies or equipment as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support quality client care and program operations. Qualifications Must have a minimum of 5 years of driving experience . High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid California Driver License and acceptable driving record when transportation duties are assigned. Must meet company Van Driver eligibility requirements. Must be fluent and proficient in English, including reading and writing. Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances. Strong communication, interpersonal, documentation, and judgment skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach throughout the workday. Assist clients with mobility and personal care. Lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds . Safely operate agency vehicles. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work Environment This position works in day programs, vehicles, and community settings serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Team members may encounter challenging behaviors, medical emergencies, and changing environmental conditions and are expected to consistently follow established safety procedures. Would you be comfortable with meeting these requirements? For insurance eligibility purposes, please confirm that you are at least 25 years of age and indicate the total number of years of your driving experience. Are you willing to transport clients in your personal vehicle? Company meetings are 3pm to 4pm once a month and some Saturday trainings. All dates will be given in advance. Will you be able to attend all meetings and trainings?
