$30-$40/hr. 1st Shift M-F Job Summary The Building Engineer serves as the lead technical authority responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and overall building systems across Siemens Energy multi-site facilities in Central Florida (including office, warehouse, and production environments). This role oversees all facility-related activities, including troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and vendor management. The Building Engineer is responsible for managing both reactive and proactive maintenance efforts, administering the CMMS system, maintaining inventory, supporting energy initiatives, and ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee all facility-related matters, including troubleshooting, investigation, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on commercial systems Manage and close out reactive, on-demand work orders in the CMMS system, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify issues, generate proactive work orders, and recommend improvements to the Site Manager Coordinate and manage vendor relationships, including scheduling, oversight, performance evaluation, and compliance with standards Plan, estimate, and schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production and operations Procure materials and support inventory management, including maintaining attic stock levels Assist with troubleshooting complex system failures and implementing corrective actions in the field Interface with Production staff, Facility Manager, and Site Manager to coordinate maintenance activities Generate purchase requisitions and coordinate subcontractor work Respond to service calls, create work orders, and perform emergency repairs as needed Maintain accurate records and ensure proper CMMS usage for all maintenance activities Continuously refine and improve maintenance procedures to align with operational changes Support energy conservation and efficiency initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned Safety Responsibilities Ensure safe working conditions across all assigned areas Identify and address safety concerns, taking corrective action as needed Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations Qualifications Minimum Requirements 5-10 years of experience in commercial building operations and maintenance (7+ years preferred) High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems General maintenance skills (carpentry, painting, minor electrical, locksmithing, etc.) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams Experience in a planner/scheduler role preferred Proficient computer and CMMS navigation skills Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated reliability and consistent work performance Preferred Certifications EPA Universal Certification (Section 608) Florida Journeyman Electrician or Plumber License Boiler Operator License OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification Technical Skills & Competencies Leadership:
