Job Description
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Responsible for meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements. Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to the day-to-day functions of the building department. Assists in the development and administration of department and division goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Serve as the primary liaison with our clients in this area and is responsible for ensuring that we deliver the highest level of customer service Responsible for attending department and community meetings as required by the client. Prepares program budget and monitors work to ensure that funds and staff time are used effectively and efficiently; analyzes work flow, assignments, priorities and staffing levels. Analyzes, reviews, and prepares code amendments or supplements. Perform some plan reviews both commercial and residentialSKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures Have solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exercise initiative and display independent judgment Be self-directed and self-motivatedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
MI Building Inspector and Plans Examiner licenses required. MI Building Official license preferred. Inspection and plan review experience required. Valid driver's license with a good driving record required.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
