Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Bus Monitor and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and positive experience of students during their daily transportation. As a Bus Monitor, you will work closely with bus drivers and school staff to supervise students, manage behavior, and promote a secure environment on school buses. Your energetic presence will help foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages respectful interactions and safe travel for all students. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives while developing valuable skills in childcare, behavior management, and communication. Responsibilities Supervise students during bus rides, ensuring they follow safety rules and behave appropriately Assist bus drivers with maintaining order and managing conflicts among students Support students with special needs or behavioral challenges by implementing appropriate behavior management techniques Ensure students board and disembark safely at designated stops, especially those requiring additional assistance Communicate effectively with students, drivers, and school staff to address any issues or concerns during transit Enforce school policies related to safety, conduct, and respectful behavior on the bus Maintain a positive and encouraging environment that promotes good behavior and cooperation among students Experience Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly preferred Knowledge of conflict management strategies and behavior management techniques Experience working with students who have special education needs is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and school personnel First aid certification is desirable to respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies Ability to remain calm, patient, and proactive in dynamic situations involving children This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting student safety and well-being.
