Job Description
Overview Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students in our community. In this energetic role, you will operate school buses and paratransit vehicles, providing a positive and secure environment for children and other passengers. Your dedication will help foster a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining the highest safety standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving expertise with meaningful work that impacts young lives daily. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring proper behavior management and child safety Communicate clearly with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address concerns Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle's mechanical systems, including brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment Maintain accurate logs of routes, passenger counts, and safety checks in compliance with regulations Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies, coordinating with authorities as necessary Provide excellent customer service by creating a friendly environment for passengers of all ages, including multilingual communication when needed Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory with proper training provided Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles; familiarity with school bus operations is a plus Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations Experience working with children or in childcare settings demonstrating patience and behavior management skills Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively while maintaining passenger safety Physical ability to assist children with boarding or exiting the bus and perform routine vehicle inspections Join us to make a difference every day by transporting students safely while fostering a positive environment.
