Job Description

#INDIT Position Summary The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new client relationships in the general staffing market. This role focuses on selling workforce solutions — including temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire staffing services — across multiple industries. This is a hunter role. The BDM owns the front end of the revenue engine: prospecting, relationship building, solution selling, and securing signed agreements that generate consistent job orders and long-term partnerships. Key Responsibilities Revenue Generation Identify and target prospective clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and strategic outreach Develop and execute territory or vertical market plans Secure new staffing agreements and master service agreements (MSAs) Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets Client Relationship Development Conduct discovery meetings to understand workforce challenges and hiring needs Present customized staffing solutions aligned with client operational goals Establish long-term partnerships with HR leaders, operations managers, and business owners Maintain consistent communication to drive repeat business and expansion Market & Pipeline Management Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline Track prospecting activity, opportunities, and forecasts in CRM Monitor market trends and competitive activity Identify new industry opportunities and growth segments Collaboration Partner with recruiting teams to ensure clear job intake and alignment on client expectations Participate in job strategy meetings to improve fill ratios and client satisfaction Work with operations and leadership to improve service delivery and profitability Required Qualifications 3+ years of business development or outside sales experience in the staffing industry Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals Strong prospecting and closing skills Excellent communication and negotiation abilities Ability to manage a sales pipeline and forecast revenue accurately Proficiency with CRM systems Preferred Qualifications Experience selling professional staffing services Existing network of hiring managers or HR leaders Experience working in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment Core Competencies Hunter mentality Relationship builder Results-driven Strategic thinker Accountable and self-directed Compensation Structure Base salary + commission Performance-based bonuses Performance Metrics New client acquisition Gross margin growth Job order volume Client retention rate Activity metrics (calls, meetings, proposals)
