Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. About the Role We are looking for a strategic dealmaker with a strong scientific foundation to join as Business Development Manager - Licensing, with a specific focus on IP assets within our Delivery, Protein Expression, Viral Vectors, and Genome engineering portfolios. This pivotal role involves developing and drivingprehensive licensing strategies, identifying and engaging potential licensees, and negotiating agreements that enhance the value of our IP assets. You will be fully responsible for identifying, negotiating, and closing high-impact out-licensing deals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of life sciences technologies, a proven track record in IP management and business development, a strong strategic mentality, and a determined, collaborative attitude to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and implement short- and long-term business strategies for the assigned out-licensing business. Identify key market opportunities and improve the roadmap to enhancemercial potential.
      Proactive Opportunity Sourcing:
      Actively seek out and originate high-potential licensing opportunities in biotech, pharma, and academia. Engage with the external ecosystem to uncover unmet needs and match them with our IP offerings.
        Deal Execution:
        Lead the full lifecycle of licensing transactions - from scouting and qualification through diligence, term sheet development, contract negotiation, and execution.
          Market & IP Intelligence:
          Stay ahead of scientific andmercial trends in LNP, cell and gene therapy, protein biologics manufacturing, and related fields. Conduct market scans and IP landscape assessments to support strategic decisions.
            Cross-Functional Collaboration:
            Partner with product management, R D, legal, IP,mercial, and technical teams to ensure alignment of licensing deals with internal priorities, business objectives, and scientific capabilities.
              Relationship Management:
              Build and champion strong external relationships with potential licensees, research institutions, andmercial partners. Represent thepany at industry events and conferences.
                Pipeline & Metrics:
                Maintain a high-quality deal pipeline and report on critical metrics, providing regular strategic insights to leadership through multiple mechanisms. Qualifications
                • Prefer candidates with an Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, or related field
                • 3+ years of business development or out-licensing experience in the biotech, pharma, or life sciences
                • Strong understanding of LNP technologies, cell and gene therapy, or biologics development
                • Proven success in leading IP-related licensing transactions
                • Excellent negotiation, analytical, andmunication skills
                • Ability to translateplex scientific concepts into business opportunities
                • Strategic attitude emphasizing action and oues
                • Collaborative approach to partner with many cross-functional teams Preferred Experience
                • Prior experience with IP out-licensing involving platform technologies like LNP or producer cell lines
                • Exposure to tech transfer offices or academic-industry partnerships
                • Familiarity with patent and freedom-to-operate considerations related to biologics and delivery platforms
                • Network across the biotech innovation ecosystem (accelerators, VCs, incubators, universities)
                • Ability to work effectively in a global, highly matrixedanization.
                • Capability to adjust work hours as necessary to amodate our global customers.
                Pay Details:
                $56.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program,muter benefits and a 401K plan.
