Position Summary :
Working closely with and reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), the Board Relations Manager (BRM) provides both the CPO and the Board of Directors with high-level administrative and executive support. The BRM will also partner with the CPO to define and execute strategies for more effectively managing the activities of the Board of Directors in the immediate- and long-term. For the CPO, the Board Relations Manager will assist with a variety of activities and projects that support the CPO's leadership of the Philanthropy Department. These include but are not limited to: scheduling and calendar management; expense reporting; documentation of the CPO's fundraising activities; agendas for departmental meetings; and communications on behalf of the CPO. For the Board of Directors, the BRM will serve as one of their principal points of contact, assisting with ticketing and parking needs and any other requests that support their involvement as Board members. The BRM will also work closely with the CPO, CEO, and Executive Team members on the planning and execution of full Board meetings, Board retreats, and committee meetings
Position Elements :
Function as one of the primary team members who works with the Board of Directors to support their efforts. Provide executive assistance to the Chief Philanthropy Officer. Assist the Director, Board Philanthropic Engagement, on the solicitation of annual gifts and event sponsorships. Provide input into planning and participate as needed for all Board of Directors' events including quarterly board of Director's meetings, yearly Board Retreats to ensure consistent communication and messaging with these key constituencies. Work closely with support staff that attend quarterly Board of Directors meetings, record and distribute board minutes and any and all other correspondence to ensure good internal communication and proactive identification of any challenges and opportunities to provide even greater support, solicitation and service. Ensure that all special requests from Board members, including arranging for ticketing for these constituents are handled by the appropriate staff in a timely and effective manner. Review and provide appropriate personal information updates on assigned Board donors. Attend pre and post-concert events as needed. Assist with planning and logistics for Board/Donor Patron Tours. Attend and assist at major fundraising events as needed. Advance the goals of the Philanthropy department (and LAPA in general). Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Vendors Position Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of administrative support experience, ideally with a Board of Directors or active volunteer group. Prior, demonstrable experience providing high level patron stewardship for a non-profit organization or a for-profit customer-oriented business. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, while being responsive, respectful and collaborative. Ability to be flexible to multiple priorities in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Superior business professional communication and organizational skills. Excellent business professional writing, communications and organizational skills. Strong business professional desktop computing skills. Experience planning and supporting special events, including vendor interactions. Technical proficiency with Microsoft programs and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs such as Tessitura, Raiser Edge, or Salesforce. Ability and willingness to work occasional nights and weekends throughout the year.
