Job Description
Remote Hours:
M-F 8:30-5:00 pm EST (or based on business needs)- What Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) contributes to Cardinal Health
- Revenue Cycle Management team focuses on a series of clinical and administrative processes that healthcare providers utilize to capture, bill, and collect patient service revenue. The revenue cycle shadows the entire patient care journey and begins with patient appointment scheduling and ends when the patient's account balance is zero.
- _Responsibilities_
- + Submitting medical documentation/billing data to insurance providers + Researching and appealing denied and rejected claims + Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software including electronic and paper claim processing + Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frame + Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payment if necessary + Reviewing insurance payments for accuracy and completeness •_Qualifications_•+ HS, GED, bachelor's degree in business related field preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred + 2 + years' experience within Revenue Cycle Management preferred + Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel + Ability to work independently and collaboratively within team environment + Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines + Excellent problem-solving skills + Strong communication skills + Familiarity with ICD-10 coding + Competent with computer systems, software and 10 key calculators + Knowledge of medical terminology + Prior EdgePark and/or Cardinal Health at Home Customer Operations preferred •_What is expected of you and others at this level_•+ Applies basic concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform routine tasks + Works on projects of limited scope and complexity + Follows established procedures to resolve readily identifiable technical problems + Works under direct supervision and receives detailed instructions + Develops competence by performing structured work assignments •Anticipated hourly range:•$20.
