That reputation is industry-recognized:
Heritage has been named an Insurance Journal Best Agency to Work For and was recently awarded Cover Agency of the Month by Rough Notes —distinctions that reflect the standards we hold internally as much as the results we deliver externally. We value depth of knowledge and trusted guidance over quick-turn quoting. Who This Role Is For You're driven, relationship-oriented, and genuinely good at what you do —someone with the judgment to navigate complex accounts and the discipline to follow through at a high level. You bring a client-centered approach, sound decision-making under pressure, and the kind of steady, capable presence that clients come to depend on. This role is not a fit for high-volume, transactional quote environments. Our work is grounded in complex risk guidance and long-term client stewardship—and we're looking for advisors who find that work genuinely rewarding. What You'll Do Advise and write agribusiness and commercial accounts across Northern California—from farm and ranch operations to ag-related and rural commercial businesses Provide complex risk guidance —conduct thorough coverage reviews that help clients make confident, informed decisions Build relationship-based business and grow a profitable, well-rounded book with strong long-term retention Partner with carriers to structure solutions that fit real-world operations—vineyards, orchards, dairies, ranches, and the commercial enterprises that support them Meet clients where they work —in the field, at the operation, or at the business, when it counts Assigned Clients + Growth Runway Depending on your experience and fit, this position can combine new business development with clients assigned from an existing book. You'll have a genuine, well-supported path to grow within an agency that's expanding across the region. Why Top Performers Choose This Role You'll work a market where expertise and relationships still drive decisions—with the independence to serve clients at a high level and a team behind you that's built to support meaningful book growth. What You'll Get Competitive base salary plus commission — our advisors consistently achieve six-figure earnings; results reflect the effort and judgment each person brings, and we provide the path, the book, and the team to get there Benefits package (details shared during the interview process) Autonomy and flexibility to serve clients well, supported by a team invested in your success A culture built on expertise, follow-through, and doing right by clients Requirements Active P&C license (required) Experience advising on and placing commercial insurance — agribusiness background valued, but strong commercial producers with an interest in rural and ag-connected markets are equally encouraged to apply Strong communication skills and a client-first, solutions-focused mindset Comfortable with local travel and in-person client meetings We're open to training the right person. What matters most is the quality of your judgment, the standard you hold for clients, and an advisory approach that puts relationships ahead of transactions. Nice-to-Haves AFIS, CIC, or CISR designation (or active pursuit) Experience with a CRM and organized pipeline management Existing ag or community involvement and relationships across Northern California What Success Looks Like Clients trust you and renew because you simplify decisions and follow through You consistently identify coverage gaps and strengthen risk strategy through thorough reviews You grow a healthy book through referrals, community presence, and dependable service How to Apply Resume + short cover letter, please. We're looking for a strong fit—share your experience, what drew you to Heritage, and what you want to build with our team. AI is fine; authenticity is essential.Send to:
