Exempt General Summary

Kia America's (KUS) Marketing Environment is a fast paced, success driven, and lean organization committed to growing KUS's business and meeting long term success KPI's. The Media Planning Specialist combine's excellent numeracy skills and critical thinking with the ability to create marketing budgets, analysis, and forecasts, that align to the business objectives. To be successful in this role, you must be able to connect functional budgets to the overall company priorities and convey that to Management, Finance, as well as Global Headquarters. The Media Planning Specialist will be responsible for supporting KUS Media Budget and partner with the Marketing Budget Team in Department's planning, strategic decision making, budget forecasting and reporting activities. In addition to budget management skills, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of digital media space including display media units, mobile, as well as display and video content creation from a brand, technical, and operational point of view.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1st Priority

  • 35%
    Support the Media team with the planning, execution, and integration of KUS's Tier 1traditional media including broadcast, print and OOH. Support the Planning, execution, and measurement of Digital Media for banners, programmatic, Search, and Endemics.
    2nd Priority
  • 25%
Media Budget Management:

In collaboration with IWA/Canvas, KUS Marketing, and Finance, ensure that KUS's Tier1 media budgets are accurately planned, maintained, tracked, and reported. Support the media and budget team in maintenance and reconciliation of the annual T1 media budget & TRPs and impressions, as well as ongoing monthly updates.

3rd Priority

  • 15%
    Media Budget Planning & Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain Media's Monthly budget plans by model, ensuring that tactical and strategic priorities are reflected in the Department's model line budget plans for use internally, as well as the Company's global headquarters.
    4th Priority
  • 15%
    Support the development of KUS Media annual and quarterly Budgets and Forecasts in collaboration w/ Dept. staff, and agency partners.
    5th Priority
  • 10%
    Support Integrated metrics and KPI reporting for digital media. Personally Performed Duties Marketing Budget Planning & Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain the Media Teams annual marketing budget plans by model in collaboration w/ Dept.

staff, and agency partners Support the Marketing Budget Manager in the development, approval, & model allocation of KUS's annual and quarterly Budget and Forecasts

Ensure that tactical and strategic priorities are reflected in KUS's Summary and model line budget plans

Develop and maintain Overall and model-line plans, actuals, and forecasts for KUS use internally, as well as KMC Overseas Marketing.

Prepare required analysis and summaries for key annual KUS and Global planning milestones

Media Budget Management:

In collaboration with IWA/Canvas, KUS Marketing, and Finance, ensure that KUS Tier1 media budgets are accurately planned, maintained, tracked, and reported. Support the media and budget team in maintenance and reconciliation of the annual T1 media budget & TRPs and impressions, as well as ongoing monthly updates. Ensure that KUS T1 media Budgets and Forecasts accurately reflect model allocations.

Prepare for and lead the monthly Partner Budget & Media Plans Update Meeting;

Track and incorporate changes from plan into KUS's model-line budgets & plans Support the media team in the annual media upfront budget and analysis and negotiating budget approval process;

Digital Media:

Work with KUS's digital media agencies in executing the digital media plans to ensure all plan elements are on strategy, timely, and have the potential to deliver against goals, objectives and key performance drivers.

Work with KUS Digital Media Manger with the creative development

Coordinate and Collaborate cross Tier 2 and Tier 3 search program to ensure a one brand approach and coverage. Qualifications/Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Accounting, Finaance, Advertising, Media or equivalent work experience requiredJob Requirement Minimum 3-5 years' experience in budgeting or related field

  • budgeting, financial analysis, budgeting, auditing, budget reporting
    Advertising/media budgeting, analysis experience
    Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Digital Media Planning and Execution
    Knowledge of marketing channels, tactics, and reporting including: National Broadcast, Spot/Local Media, OOH, and Print
    Automotive experience or experience in working with product focused marketing organization budgets
Directly Related Experience:

Strong Marketing budget, planning, and reporting experience

Experience in working with technology and collaboration tools to enhance and streamline budget processes

Experience in creating ad-hoc analysis and reporting

Digital media agency and automotive experience is a plus

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required Possess a dynamic blend of marketing, and finance acumen, leadership, agility, and communication skills.

Excellent written/verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Demonstrated project management and integration experience

Ability to operate and excel at the strategic as well as tactical levels

Demonstrated project management and integration experience

Hands-on experience with budget/financial software, and collaboration tools

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  •  $91,147.
