Job Description
Position Summary The Manager, Retail Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and continuous development of Retail's business intelligence, analytics, and AI capabilities. This role leads a team of BI and data professionals and partners closely with Retail leadership and field teams to deliver trusted data, actionable insights, scalable analytics solutions, and AI-driven innovations that enhance business performance, profitability, productivity, and the customer experience while supporting broader organizational objectives. The Manager translates business priorities into a strategic analytics and AI roadmap, ensuring the delivery of accurate, reliable, and decision-ready insights. Serving as a trusted advisor, this role transforms complex data into meaningful recommendations and technology solutions that drive both strategic and operational decision-making. The position requires strong leadership, business acumen, data storytelling expertise, and advanced proficiency in Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, Excel, and emerging AI technologies. The Manager is also responsible for developing team capabilities, establishing analytics best practices, and fostering a data-driven culture that enables informed business decisions across the Retail organization. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Lead the design, development, and delivery of business intelligence, analytics, and AI solutions, including dashboards, scorecards, reporting, analytical models, automated processes, and AI-enabled tools that support retail performance and decision-making. Translate complex business challenges into actionable insights and innovative solutions by analyzing trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers across sales, labor, profitability, customer, and operational metrics. Identify, prioritize, and lead AI initiatives that improve productivity, decision-making, operational efficiency, and the customer experience while ensuring alignment with business objectives. Present clear, concise, and compelling business narratives to executive and operational leaders, transforming data into recommendations that drive measurable results. Establish and maintain data governance, KPI standards, reporting methodologies, and technical best practices across Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, Excel, AI technologies, and related analytics platforms to ensure accurate, scalable, and reliable business intelligence solutions. Lead the Retail Business Intelligence & Analytics function by establishing department priorities, standards, and a strategic roadmap aligned with company objectives and retail growth initiatives. Hire, coach, develop, and mentor a team of BI and data professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, innovation, and business partnership. Set team goals, prioritize workloads, and develop team capabilities through coaching, mentorship, succession planning, and continuous skill development. Serve as the primary BI leader and trusted advisor to Retail and cross-functional leadership, influencing strategic decisions through data-driven insights and strong business partnerships.
Qualifications Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in business intelligence, analytics, data, or reporting. Two or more years of direct people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, work prioritization, and employee development. Experience supporting retail, multi-unit operations, sales, labor, finance, or another operationally complex business environment preferred. Demonstrated experience presenting data, insights, and recommendations to senior leaders and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated success leading multiple analytical initiatives while balancing strategic priorities and operational responsibilities. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be advanced proficiency with Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Excel. Strong understanding of data warehousing, data governance, KPI development, reporting methodologies, and analytics best practices. Ability to evaluate technical solutions, coach team members, troubleshoot issues, and guide scalable analytics designs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, and the ability to create executive-ready presentations.Certificates and Licenses:
Alteryx and Tableau preferred.Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly leads the Retail Business Intelligence & Analytics team and is responsible for hiring, onboarding, coaching, developing, assigning work, setting performance expectations, reviewing deliverables, conducting performance discussions, and building succession capability. The Manager is accountable for creating a high-performing team that delivers accurate, scalable, and actionable analytics. This role provides both business and technical leadership while developing team members' abilities to independently identify business needs, apply analytical methods, communicate insights, and support business intelligence solutions. Position Hiring Range The hiring pay range provides a good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage that Living Spaces expects to pay for the position upon hire. Pay will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, applicable and relevant skills and abilities, market demand, Company budget, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. $100,800.00 - $134,400.00 Overtime pay is available for eligible, non-exempt Team Members. Reimbursement for expenses as required by applicable law and Company policy. Retail, Guest Services and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
