Job Summary DOVE Consulting is seeking a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Behavior Management Consultant (BMC) to manage a caseload of residential care homes in the Rancho Cordova/Mather area. In this role, you'll develop, implement, and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans for adults and youth with developmental disabilities living in Level 3-7 residential care facilities; many with co-occurring mental health conditions, medical complexities, non-speaking autism, or mild intellectual disability paired with severe behavior. Your expertise will directly shape outcomes for clients and the direct care staff who support them daily, through evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practices. You'll work closely with care home staff, clients, and regional center service coordinators to ensure high-quality, consistent behavioral support. This role offers real autonomy over your own caseload and schedule, along with a clear growth path as DOVE expands. As new care homes open across our regions, this role has potential to grow into full-time work — including caseload across additional territories — with full-time BCBAs seeing total compensation in the $93,000-$114,000+ range annually. Duties Conduct 30-day evaluations and functional behavior assessments for new resident care home placements to identify needs and develop tailored intervention strategies Design, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) grounded in ABA principles for adult and youth clients in residential care, including crisis protocols and Individual Emergency Intervention Plans for clients with severe or high-risk behavior when indicated Design and deliver individualized training materials, staff training scripts, and data collection tools for direct care staff, using DOVE's established templates Design 1:1 staffing plans and fading protocols to safely reduce support levels as clients progress when indicated for residents with supplemental staffing needs Review behavioral data collected by care home staff to track progress, identify barriers, and adjust interventions as needed Complete quarterly progress reports, tracking data and treatment progress against goals and objectives Train and coach direct care staff — many of whom are ESL and/or have limited formal education but are dedicated, kind caregivers — on plan implementation and behavior management techniques Coordinate with care homes, clients, families/conservators, day program staff, and outside service providers; attend planning team (IDT) meetings with regional center service coordinators as needed Manage your own visit schedule and caseload across assigned care homes Experience BCBA certification with a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field — or qualifying BMC credentials per Title 17 §54342 Experience with complex, high-acuity populations: co-occurring mental health conditions, medical complexity, non-speaking autism, or intellectual disability with severe behavior Experience in residential care, group home, or similar community-based settings highly desired Working knowledge of crisis prevention/intervention protocols and emergency intervention planning Experience independently conducting functional behavior assessments and developing intervention plans Experience writing 1:1 staffing plans and support-fading strategies Experience training, coaching, or providing ongoing feedback to direct care staff or caregivers on behavior plan implementation Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with all stakeholders e.g. regional center service coordinators and behaviorists, client conservators and family members, day program staff, outside client service providers Comfortable using AI and productivity tools to build training materials, staff scripts, and data collection tools (DOVE provides a Claude subscription; familiarity with tools like Canva or Microsoft Office is a plus) Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule across multiple care home sites Please note: This is an independent, field-based role. You'll need your own reliable transportation (valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance), laptop or computer, home internet access, standard productivity software, and printer access — DOVE does not provide equipment for this position. DOVE reimburses work-related materials and supplies (paper, ink, laminator, and similar items) against submitted receipts. $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
