Job Description
This is a highly technical and professional position involving business analysis, process mapping, requirements definition and application administration disciplines such as configuration, setup and user security. The Business Application Analyst reports to the I.T. System Implementation Manager and works primarily within operations of the Growth Management department. Interact with user groups and management to define and document requirements for business application software. Coordinate the implementation, technical writing and user training activities associated with system changes and/or new system development efforts. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of third-party software applications and development tools where applicable. Develop/maintain test scripts and conduct thorough testing of new and modified applications prior to implementation. Build and maintain strong working relationships City departments to ensure accurate planning and coordinating of all information systems and subsystems and to in accordance with City of Ocala Ordinances. Provide application and business expertise; to assist in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of system enhancements. Create and maintain complete documentation for data and business models. Work with departments to analyze business information, existing procedures, processes and workflow to develop and implement productivity and service enhancements as well as assist in the exploration and recommendation of alternative solutions and methods of operation. Provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Troubleshoot issues with existing or developed systems, and works with appropriate resources to resolve them. Respond to telephone calls, email, and staff requests for application support. Track and monitor problems to insure timely resolution. Create advanced queries and reports on various data sources to detect errors and missing information. Administer application security, configuration, maintenance and setup. Work with the Database Administrator and Senior Systems Analyst in applying upgrades and patches to the applications. Provide supervisor with progress/status updates on a regular basis; escalating scheduling delays or other conflicts. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required . Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or related discipline is preferred . An equivalent combination of training and professionally responsible experience may substitute for educational requirements. Minimum three (3) years of business application (such as CIS, FIS, GIS, AMR, or other City information system) or functional support experience. Experience with network architectures, relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server) and client/server environment desired .REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
