Job Description

This is a 12-month contract Business Analyst position based in Tallahassee, Florida. You will provide business analysis, project coordination, and technical assessment services to support the migration of legacy Microsoft Access databases to an approved enterprise application platform. In this role, you will lead discovery, application assessment, business process analysis, and requirements gathering activities while serving as the primary liaison between the IT organization, business divisions, financial subject matter experts, and the implementation vendor. You will ensure business processes, financial logic, budgeting workflows, reporting requirements, data structures, and application functionality are accurately documented and translated into requirements for the replacement solution. Responsibilities Lead discovery and application assessment activities for legacy Microsoft Access databases Conduct business process analysis and requirements gathering Serve as primary liaison between IT organization, business divisions, financial subject matter experts, and the implementation vendor Document business processes, workflows, and application requirements Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions Analyze and reverse-engineer Microsoft Access applications, including relational tables, relationships, SQL queries, forms, reports, macros, and VBA code to identify business rules and application functionality Interpret financial workflows, reporting requirements, and business rules embedded within legacy Access databases Manage project schedules, milestones, risks, issues, deliverables, and stakeholder communications Align business requirements with modern application capabilities and platforms Qualifications Required Minimum five (5) years of business analysis experience supporting enterprise software implementations or application modernization projects Minimum three (3) years of experience analyzing Microsoft Access databases Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and application requirements Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions Experience supporting application migration, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams Deep understanding of Microsoft Access, including the ability to analyze and reverse-engineer relational tables, relationships, SQL queries, forms, reports, macros, and VBA code Strong familiarity with financial concepts, reporting, and data models (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, general ledger, cost allocation, or expense tracking) Proven experience managing project schedules, milestones, risks, issues, deliverables, and stakeholder communications Preferred Working knowledge of Low-Code/No-Code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Dataverse, Power Automate, Airtable, OutSystems, Mendix, or similar) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification Scrum Master certification
