Job Description

Description We are looking for a Business Analyst 2 to support business and technology initiatives in Des Moines, Iowa. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can translate operational needs into well-defined requirements, coordinate with stakeholders across the product lifecycle, and help keep projects moving forward. The role combines business analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to improve processes and support software-related initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and product teams to uncover business needs and convert them into clear functional and technical requirements.
  • Create and maintain process flows, system documentation, and related artifacts that support project planning and solution delivery.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery practices by drafting user stories, refining backlog items, and supporting team tools and ceremonies.
  • Coordinate project activities, track progress, and provide regular updates to ensure alignment among business and technical participants.
  • Work with development teams throughout the product lifecycle to clarify requirements, answer questions, and validate that solutions meet business objectives.
  • Analyze business processes and identify gaps, risks, or improvement opportunities that may affect project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, fellow analysts, and external vendors to support successful implementation efforts.
  • Perform additional assigned duties that contribute to operational and project success. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the design, development, and rollout of software solutions, systems, or business applications.
  • Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, document review, gap analysis, and process evaluation.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum environments, including experience writing user stories and working within structured delivery frameworks.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and provide consistent status updates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook, along with experience using a work management platform similar to Jira.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships, navigate complex stakeholder interactions, and work effectively with cross-functional teams and third-party partners.
  • Background in financial services, insurance, policy administration, or vendor-supported environments is preferred but not required.
