Introduction The Maryland Insurance\r\nAdministration (MIA) is an independent State agency that regulates Maryland's\r\n$46 billion insurance industry and protects consumers by monitoring and\r\nenforcing insurers' and insurance professionals' compliance with State\r\nlaw.� Through the diligence of a highly professional staff of market\r\nanalysts, financial analysts, accountants, lawyers, law enforcement officers,\r\nactuaries, complaint investigators, and others, the MIA works to facilitate a\r\nstrong and competitive insurance marketplace where consumers are well informed\r\nand treated fairly.� Staff members are subject matter experts who serve as\r\na resource for lawmakers, consumers, and other public and private\r\nentities.�\r\n�\r\nThe MIA is charged with a\r\nbroad range of responsibilities including the licensure of insurance carriers\r\nand insurance producers (brokers/agents) operating in Maryland, the conduct of\r\nfinancial examinations of companies to monitor financial solvency, and the\r\nreview and approval of rates and contract forms. The MIA investigates reports\r\nof consumer fraud and consumer complaints about life, health, automobile,\r\nhomeowners, and/or property insurance.� Insurance carriers are subject to\r\nmarket conduct examinations and other actions to monitor compliance with\r\nMaryland law.� The MIA also has a unit dedicated to consumer education and\r\noutreach, which participates in hundreds of events and reaches thousands of\r\nindividual consumers annually.\r\n GRADE 21\r\n

POSITION DUTIES
The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is seeking a highly skilled\r\nand strategic candidate to fill a contractual Senior Salesforce Business\r\nAnalyst position. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to\r\nelicit requirements, design scalable processes, and maximize the agency's\r\nSalesforce investment. As a senior member of the team, the Business Analyst will\r\nnot just gather requirements but they will challenge the status quo, drive\r\ndigital transformation, and ensure that the MIA's Salesforce ecosystem aligns\r\nperfectly with our long-term business goals. \r\n�\r\nKey responsibilities include: \r\n�\r\n
    Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:
    Lead workshops and interviews\r\nwith stakeholders to uncover true business needs. Translate complex business\r\nrequirements into clean, actionable user stories and technical specifications.\r\n�\r\n
    • Process Optimization:
      Map current-state workflows and design\r\nfuture-state processes within Salesforce to eliminate friction and improve\r\noperational efficiency.\r\n�\r\n
    • Solution Design:
      Collaborate closely with Salesforce Admins, Developers,\r\nand Architects to design scalable solutions that leverage out-of-the-box\r\nSalesforce functionality before resorting to custom code.\r\n�\r\n
    • Data Governance & Analytics:
      Define data requirements, ensure data\r\nintegrity across systems, and build advanced reports and dashboards to provide\r\nactionable insights for leadership.\r\n�\r\n
    • Testing & Deployment:
      Own the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process,\r\nincluding creating test scripts, coordinating with business users, and ensuring\r\ndeliverables meet acceptance criteria.\r\n�\r\n
    Change Management & Training:
    Drive platform adoption by developing\r\ntraining materials, conducting enablement sessions for internal and external\r\nstakeholders, and communicating system updates to users.\r\n
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Experience:
    Seven years of experience designing, developing,\r\ntesting, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or\r\noperating systems software.\r\n�\r\n
    Notes:
    \r\n1. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or\r\npossession of a high school equivalency certificate and thirty\r\ncredit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Science,\r\nComputer Technology, Management Information Systems or other information\r\ntechnology-related field to include coursework in application, communication,\r\ndatabase or operating systems software technology for four years of the\r\nrequired experience.\r\n�\r\n2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or\r\npossession of a high school equivalency certificate and one\r\nyear of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining\r\napplication, communication, database or operating systems software for four\r\nyears of the required experience.\r\n�\r\n3. Candidates may substitute experience operating computer systems;\r\nor scheduling, controlling input and output to process data on computer\r\nsystems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and\r\nsoftware; or converting data from project specifications by developing program\r\ncode using generally accepted computer programming languages on a year-for-year\r\nbasis for a high school education.\r\n4. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from\r\nan accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information\r\nTechnology, Management Information Systems or other information\r\ntechnology-related field to include coursework in application, communication,\r\ndatabase or operating systems software technology and three\r\nyears of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and\r\nmaintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software\r\nfor the required experience.\r\n�\r\n\r\n\r\n5. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service\r\nexperience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations\r\nclassifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the\r\nInformation Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required\r\nexperience.\r\n
    DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    \r\n Salesforce Certified\r\n Business Analyst\r\n Salesforce Certified\r\n Administrator\r\n PMI-PBA or CBAP\r\n certification is a plus\r\n Scrum Master or Project\r\n Manager experience \r\n Production support\r\n experience\r\n Ability to support\r\n priorities beyond Salesforce related projects\r\n Experience with Box\r\n document management system\r\n\r\n

    BENEFITS
    Contractual employees who\r\nwork for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and\r\nWelfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or\r\nmore hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized\r\nhealth benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual\r\nemployee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your\r\nmedical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have\r\nenrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost\r\nfor these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental\r\ndeath and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible\r\nto pay the full premium for these benefits.\r\n�\r\nLeave may be granted to a\r\ncontractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave\r\naccrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours\r\nper calendar year.\r\n
