employees Duties Help The following are the duties of this position the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Analyzes tax computions for a variety of accounting, auditing, and procedural issues as they rele to NRP requirements. Resolves issues such as complex depreciion, carryback/carry forward, foreign tax credit, Alternive minimum tax, Passive activity losses, change of accounting methods and flow-through entities and its reled complex relionship structures. Troubleshoots and resolves NRP examinion issues through automed systems and processes using auditing skills and knowledge of tax law and internal IRS applicions, such asAIMS/ERCS.
Guides users in development of software solutions to unique problems or personally recommended audit applicions th have more widespread applicability. Identifies and analyzes case da to detect error trends in software-assisted computions or issues th may be used as an educional tool to improve technical skills of agents. Provides guidance and direction to Revenue Agents, Tax Compliance Officers, and Campus Examiners in the use, conversion, or extraction of taxpayer da, in a form compible with IRS technology. Provides management personnel with technical and administrive guidance and feedback on program operions and results. Provides technical assistance in the development of training programs and the preparion of training merials and reled job aids. A Certifice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a bachelor's or higher degree in accounting th included least 30 semester hours in accounting or 24 semester hours in accounting and an additional 6 semester hours in reled subjects such as business law, economics, stistical/quantitive methods, computerized accounting, or financial systems, financial management, or finance. OR A bachelor's or higher degree in a field other than accounting or a combinion of educion and experience equivalent to 4 years th included least 30 semester hours in accounting or 24 semester hours in accounting and 6 semester hours in reled subjects as described above.AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-14
: In addition to meeting basic requirements, to be eligible for this position, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Qualifying experience must have been in progressively responsible and diversified professional accounting or auditing work th required 1) knowledge of and skill in applying professional accounting principles, theory, and practices to analyze and interpret accounting books, records, or systems specifically to determine their effect on Federal tax liabilities and their adequacy for recording transactions affecting tax liabilities; 2) skill in interpreting and applying Federal tax law for individuals, business, and/or exempt organizions, partnerships, and corporions; 3) knowledge of business and trade practices to develop tax issues based on analysis and evaluion of overall business operions and financial condition; 4) knowledge of corpore financial transactions and financial management principles and practices; and 5) skill in interacting effectively with a broad range of individuals and in negotiing with specialists in accounting, legal, tax, and other similar business-reled professions. Troubleshooting and resolving Nional Research Program (NRP) examinion issues within automed IRS systems like AIMS and ERCS by applying advanced auditing skills and tax law knowledge. Identifying and analyzing case da to detect error trends in software-assisted computions, leveraging findings to develop educional tools and software solutions th improve examiner technical skills. Providing technical guidance to Revenue Agents and Tax Compliance Officers on da extraction and conversion, while supplying management personnel with operional feedback and training merials. Serving as a primary contact for resolving RGS and RGS LAN inquiries, effectively monitoring problemic case files and recommending systemic applicion changes to enhance program operions.
