Position Summary Business Technology Analyst This position provides critical operational, coordination, and communication support for the delivery of Information Technology services to campus customers. The role supports day-to-day service operations, scheduling, requirements gathering, ticket triage, customer engagement, and project tracking to help ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. The position also serves as a key communication point for internal team members, the broader IT organization, campus partners, and customers. This position is part of the Enterprise Engineering team within Information Technology. Enterprise Engineering provides design, engineering, implementation, and operational support for campus networking, systems, hosting, and end-user engineering services. The temporary role is focused on supporting the Network Modernization Program and related initiatives. Missouri S&T is undertaking a multi-year effort to decommission and upgrade routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure across campus. This position will coordinate lifecycle activities including planning, acquisition, provisioning, deployment, inventory tracking, communication, decommissioning, surplus, and scrap coordination for equipment across approximately 100 campus buildings. Basic Function & Responsibilities This six-month temporary position supports the Enterprise Engineering team within Information Technology by helping coordinate operational, project, inventory, procurement, communication, and customer-facing activities associated with the Network Modernization Program. The role is intended to reduce administrative and coordination load on technical staff so engineers and technicians can remain focused on design, implementation, troubleshooting, and service delivery. Work will include organizing information, tracking tasks and assets, coordinating with internal teams and campus stakeholders, assisting with vendor and purchasing workflows, and helping ensure modernization activities move forward in a timely and well-documented manner. Key Responsibilities Support coordination and tracking activities for the Network Modernization Program, including routing, switching, wireless, and related infrastructure lifecycle work. Build and maintain project task lists, schedules, status updates, documentation, and action items to support a six-month temporary engagement with clear deliverables. Coordinate across Enterprise Engineering, IT support teams, vendors, facilities partners, and campus departments to support deployment planning and customer communication. Assist with inventory tracking, equipment staging, provisioning coordination, asset documentation, decommissioning records, surplus processing, and scrap coordination. Support purchasing and vendor coordination by gathering information, tracking quotes and orders, monitoring delivery status, and maintaining related documentation. Help triage, organize, and follow up on tickets, requests, customer questions, and modernization-related service needs. Prepare routine communications, status summaries, meeting notes, reports, and documentation for team members, stakeholders, and campus customers. Identify process gaps, documentation needs, risks, blockers, or handoff issues and escalate them to appropriate technical or leadership staff. Provide customer-focused operational support while maintaining accurate records, timely follow-up, and clear communication. Perform other temporary project coordination and operational support duties related to Enterprise Engineering priorities as assigned.
