D&G is seeking a Joint Exercise Planning & Facilitation SME to support the design, planning, coordination, and execution of strategic exercises and event-based training activities supporting U.S. Strategic Command. This role helps create realistic operational environments that challenge participants, drive meaningful discussion, and generate actionable insights that improve mission effectiveness and strategic readiness. The ideal candidate brings experience planning and facilitating complex exercises, seminars, tabletop exercises, wargames, and senior leader events within Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or Service-level organizations. What You Will Do Understand and demonstrate superior military planning process skills to determine the effectiveness of U.S. operations, activities, and investments in shaping the strategic environment, deterrence theory, strategic deterrence strategy, and disparate ways of evaluating risk. Design, plan, and execute Joint Exercise events, including tabletop exercises (TTXs), readiness drills, senior leader discussions, seminars, and wargaming activities. Consult with event sponsors and stakeholders to define objectives, develop scenarios, and identify venues that support desired outcomes. Coordinate all event requirements, including milestones, logistics, participant management, documentation, and event updates. Support identification of participants, exercise tools, scenario injects, data collection methods, and lessons learned requirements. Support briefings and written analyses for General/Flag Officers and senior civilian personnel. Present clear, concise, and well-structured oral presentations and written correspondence. Support event planning teams through all phases of event development and execution. Conduct planning meetings and reviews necessary to meet established milestones and schedules. Coordinate administrative, security, logistics, and audiovisual support requirements necessary for successful event execution. Serve as an event facilitator or cell facilitator during Joint Exercise events. Guide discussions, participant engagement, and event activities toward achievement of exercise objectives. Serve as a liaison between participant cells and White Cell personnel, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and exercise flow. Provide observations, assessments, and insights to exercise leadership and data collection teams. Perform other duties as directed by the Program Manager. What We Are Looking For Required Associate or bachelor's degree in Strategic Studies, International Affairs, Military Studies, Public Policy, or related field preferred; equivalent military operational experience may be substituted. 7 years of experience designing, planning, and leading seminars, tabletop exercises, wargames, or similar events. Experience supporting one or more
USSTRATCOM
mission areas at the Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or Service MAJCOM level. Strong communication and briefing skills with the ability to effectively engage senior military and civilian leaders. Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, high-tempo operational and exercise environments. Clearance and Eligibility Active TS/SCI clearance required. This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). Travel Approximately 10% CONUS travel.
