Job Description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Business Analyst for an on-site position with a Major Financial Institution located in Brooklyn, OH, Columbus, OH, Buffalo, NY, or Albany, NY. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.
Pay range: $72.50 per hour, W2
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Data Analyst (BA/DA) to join the Enterprise Shared Analytics Marts (ESAM) team within Enterprise Data and Information Services (EDIS). This high-impact role supports enterprise-scale data solutions that enable reporting, analytics, regulatorypliance, and strategic business decision-making.
The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and downstream consumers to define requirements, analyze data, and ensure accurate delivery of enterprise data solutions across the data supply chain.
Responsibilities
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
Perform end-to-end data attribution and source-to-target mapping across source systems, enterprise data assets, and downstream data marts.
Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, including data transformations, derivations, and business rules.
Develop SQL logic, data validation rules, and mapping documentation to support development and engineering teams.
Contribute to logical and physical data models, including entity-relationship diagrams.
Support solution design efforts to ensure alignment with business objectives, enterprise data standards, and user needs.
Lead requirements and mapping reviews to ensure quality, consistency, traceability, and audit readiness.
Conduct data profiling, analysis, and validation to assess data quality,pleteness, and downstream impacts.
Support SIT and UAT testing activities by defining test scenarios, validating oues, and assisting with defect resolution.
Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and estimates to stakeholders and project teams. Agile and SDLC methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices related to data quality, documentation, and delivery efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience gathering and documenting business and data requirements.
Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and requirements translation.
Experience with data mapping, source-to-target mapping, and data modeling.
Experience working with enterprise data platforms and cloud technologies.
Experience with cloud data environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
